Penang Hill overlooks the whole of Penang. Penang is 6 hour away from where I live.
Penang is a state in Malaysia, located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia by the Strait of Malacca. Penang is the second smallest state in Malaysia after Perlis, and the eighth most populous. A resident of Penang is colloquially known as a Penangite.
The name "Penang" comes from the modern Malay name Pulau Pinang, which means island of the areca nut palm (Areca catechu, family Palmae). The name Penang can refer either to the island of Penang or the state of Penang. The capital of Penang state is George Town. More specifically, George Town is also called Tanjung in Malay. Penang Island is simply Pulau Pinang and Penang state is Negeri Pulau Pinang in Malay.
Penang is severally known as "The Pearl of the Orient" and "Pulau Pinang Pulau Mutiara" (Penang Island of Pearls). (source: wikipedia)
no, not the man behind the camera (i got him already). i meant the camera he's holding: Nikon D70. Really. I am so wishing to get a dslr for myself. It seems like I have taken into liking the photography.
I am also hoping to get a short-term photography course. I wonder how and when. Sigh. *dreaming*
Just got back my once un-fixable notebook. Then I scanned for some files. Found this one. Good to see children showing interest in reading books. Two of these kids are mine. The other one is a friend's.
on the way to Damai Laut... there's a lot of them waiting by the road side. People feed them. so when they see car approaching, they would all jump on the road and wait... to be fed.
This may look like a carpet but no, it is not. This is a floor decoration made of rice grains of different colors. You can see a lot of these at public places during one of Indian festivals called Deepavali or Diwali.
It's just amazing that this is made up of multi-colored rice grains. Next time, I wanna be there when they do this.
I am in the mood for discovering new dishes that my family likes. I cooked dalcha for lunch and the hubby loved it. Thanks to the recipe I found in the net. I served it with plain jasmine rice.
Dalcha is an Indian curry made from mutton and chana dal. It is a dish of Hyderabadi cuisine.
Saw this shop selling everything strawberry. That's in Cameron Highlands. Camerons is known to grow good strawberries. I think it's due to the cool weather. Posting about it just makes me wanna be in a cool weather. I wonder when we can go back there again.
